Role Description The Low Current Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Damascus. The person in this role will design, implement, and maintain low current systems such as fire alarm, CCTV, access control, public address, data networks, and other ELV (Extra Low Voltage) systems in line with project requirements and industry standards. Daily responsibilities include reviewing drawings and specifications, preparing technical documentation, selecting appropriate equipment, and coordinating with project managers, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth installation and commissioning. The Low Current Engineer will perform site surveys, supervise installation work, conduct system testing and troubleshooting, and provide technical support during handover and after-sales phases. The role also involves ensuring compliance with safety codes and regulations, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to continuous improvement of engineering practices within the company.
Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge of low current and ELV systems (e.g., fire alarm, CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, public address, data/structured cabling).
- Ability to read and develop technical drawings, schematics, and layouts using CAD or similar design tools.
- Proficiency in site supervision, system installation oversight, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of low current systems.
- Understanding of relevant standards, codes, and best practices for safety, security, and low voltage installations.
- Effective communication and coordination skills for working with project teams, contractors, and clients on-site.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Previous experience in low current or ELV engineering, preferably in safety, security, or building systems projects.
- Willingness to work on-site in Damascus and visit project locations as needed.
- Professional certifications in low current/ELV systems or related technologies are an advantage.
