Job Summary:
The Engineering, Tooling, and Special Processing Manager will lead and oversee the engineering department, ensuring all processes comply with industry standards and regulations. This role involves managing Tooling activities and special processing tasks, ensuring the highest quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
– Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the Engineering, Tooling, and Special Processing teams.
- Develop and implement strategic goals and objectives for the department.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
– Engineering Duties:
- Oversee the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project timelines and objectives are met.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality.
– Tooling Responsibilities:
- Oversee tooling department, including department supervisor, training, and development.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve tooling processes and efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to meet project goals and deadlines.
- Oversee the design, fabrication, maintenance, and repair of tooling and fixtures.
- Manage departmental budgets and allocate resources effectively.
– Special Processing:
- Oversee special processing operations, including heat treatment, welding, and chemical processing.
- Ensure all special processing activities meet industry standards and customer specifications.
- Maintain and update process documentation and procedures.
– Quality Assurance:
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Participate in internal and external audits.
- Address and resolve any quality-related issues or non-conformances.
– Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage departmental budgets.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet project and operational requirements.
Qualifications:
– Education: Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
– Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in engineering
– Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in CAD methods and special processing techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Advanced degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
– 3 years of managerial experience
– Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
– Familiarity with aerospace or automotive industry standards.
Working Conditions:
– Office and manufacturing floor environment.
– Occasional travel may be required.
