A leading international engineering and infrastructure consultancy is seeking a highly experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer to support a major metro and transportation infrastructure programme in the UAE.
This role will focus on the maintenance strategy, asset reliability, and operational readiness of complex transportation systems, with particular emphasis on the transition from Design & Build (D&B) delivery into Operations & Maintenance (O&M).
The successful candidate will play a key role within a Project Management Consultant (PMC) environment, overseeing contractor maintenance activities and ensuring long-term operational performance across critical infrastructure assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess maintenance plans and schedules submitted by D&B contractors
- Monitor contractor maintenance performance to ensure compliance with project and operational standards
- Support the development and handover of maintenance manuals and asset documentation
- Coordinate maintenance requirements throughout design, construction, and commissioning phases
- Conduct inspections and technical assessments of maintenance activities
- Analyse maintenance data, identify trends, and recommend improvements
- Support project leadership with technical maintenance insights and operational readiness planning
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior stakeholders and clients
- Ensure compliance with relevant rail, metro, and infrastructure maintenance standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
- 10–12+ years’ experience within maintenance engineering and asset maintenance environments
- Strong background within metro, rail, transportation, or strategic government infrastructure projects
- Experience working within PMC environments overseeing D&B contractors is highly advantageous
- Deep understanding of maintenance programmes, asset lifecycle management, and O&M handover processes
- Strong technical, analytical, and stakeholder management capability
- UAE or GCC project experience preferred
- Candidates available at short notice will be viewed favourably
