Job Summary
Supports bus infrastructure projects such as maintenance facility design, station design, BRT infrastructure, and electric bus charging infrastructure. Assists clients in developing infrastructure plans and designs associated with transitioning light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles such as municipal fleets and buses to zero‑emissions technologies.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects related to transitioning infrastructure to zero emissions technologies.
- Provide technical expertise to support cross‑discipline project teams planning, designing and implementing bus and paratransit solutions.
- Design infrastructure such as bus stops, charging systems, hydrogen fueling stations, and maintenance facilities to support zero‑emissions fleets.
- Work with utilities to assess the impacts of electrifying large fleets.
- Complete cost estimates associated with zero‑emissions transitions.
- Serve as subject‑matter expert on bus and rail fleet planning, vehicles and maintenance infrastructure.
- Develop specifications and commercial terms for infrastructure procurements.
- Develop cost estimates and life‑cycle analyses to assess existing bus operations.
- Conduct infrastructure assessment and transition studies.
- Review technical documents such as design plans and other engineering related deliverables.
- Produce quality assurance plans and oversee quality control programs.
- Prepare technical documents/reports and present to clients, project teams, etc.
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships.
- Maintain continuous, effective communication and relationship building with clients in the development and implementation of projects.
Qualifications
- BS degree in engineering, with strong preference for an electrical engineer.
- 5–10 years of experience; candidate not required to have experience in all areas highlighted.
- Experience working with local transit agencies such as TTC and Mississauga Transit.
- Experience designing bus facilities, stations or charging infrastructure.
- Experience with business development and proposal development for consulting work.
- Background in fleet planning, facility and infrastructure design, or related fields is preferred.
- A professional engineering license (P.Eng.).
Compensation
Base salary range: $115,000 – $165,000
In addition to base pay, the total rewards package may include performance‑based incentives, comprehensive benefits, and other programs designed to support your well‑being and growth.
