As part of their continued growth, they're looking to appoint an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join their engineering team in Andover, MA.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys improving manufacturing processes, solving complex production challenges and driving operational excellence. You'll play a key role in supporting production, developing CNC machining processes and delivering continuous improvements that enhance quality, productivity and efficiency.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you'll work closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams to optimise machining processes, introduce new manufacturing methods and support the successful introduction of new products into production.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact on manufacturing performance while working within a collaborative, family-oriented organisation that values innovation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop complete CNC machining processes for new and existing components.
- Create setup sheets, tooling layouts, tool preset drawings and machining documentation.
- Program 2-axis and 3-axis CNC machines, writing new programs from scratch for new product introductions.
- Troubleshoot machining issues, including programming, tooling, fixture, tolerance and process-related problems.
- Work closely with production teams to improve machine uptime, product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Optimise cycle times, tooling strategies and manufacturing methods to reduce cost and improve throughput.
- Develop routings, work instructions, process sheets and manufacturing documentation.
- Establish feeds, speeds, tooling requirements and machining parameters.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or a related discipline).
- 5+ years' experience within a manufacturing engineering environment.
- Strong CNC programming and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience developing machining processes for production environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling and manufacturing best practices.
- Ability to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across engineering and production teams.
Desirable
- Lean Manufacturing experience.
- Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB).
- CNC Programming Certification.
