About the Role
Manufacturing Engineering Manager
The Engineering Manager is responsible for planning and managing all resources related to the plant’s engineering department. Their primary responsibility is to ensure that all production means, such as work methods, measuring devices, tools, and machinery—are appropriate and effective. They must also ensure that the workforce is properly trained to produce and deliver products according to customer specifications.
Additionally, this role oversees the effective management of production flows in coordination with operations areas (including layout optimization) and leads the launch of new products. The Engineering Manager is also responsible for maintaining the plant’s facilities and driving continuous improvement initiatives through the 3Q6S management philosophy and system.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
- Manage and plan all resources within the Engineering Department.
- Lead strategic planning using advanced analysis and simulation tools.
- Assign tasks based on project complexity and team capabilities, ensuring proper follow‑up.
- Define direct labor requirements and determine plant and process capacity, including layout optimization.
- Monitor key KPIs (efficiency, cycle times, quality, cost, delivery, safety).
- Oversee CAPEX planning and execution for Operations.
- Implement improvement projects using WCM methodologies.
- Establish and enforce work standards and process procedures.
- Ensure adequate production means (methods, tools, measurement systems, machinery).
- Validate assembly procedures to meet customer specifications.
- Drive cost‑reduction initiatives across products, processes, parts, and services.
- Ensure proper functioning of safety systems and compliance with industrial regulations.
- Approve new production lines, materials, suppliers, and products following APQP standards.
- Maintain structured documentation systems for design, implementation, and engineering changes.
- Introduce new technologies to improve process efficiency and product quality.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives under the 3Q6S philosophy and management system.
- Manage maintenance of building facilities, grounds, and service equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Electromechanical Engineering or related field
- Project Management experience
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
- Advanced English
- 5+ years in engineering or manufacturing roles
- Production line transfers
- Process automation
- New product/process implementation
- OEE and productivity improvement initiatives
