What You'll
- Lead a team of manufacturing engineers, specialists, and technicians supporting PCBA assembly and testing operation
- Develop and execute strategies to scale internal PCB assembly and production capabilities
- Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) initiatives in partnership with hardware engineering team
- Optimize factory layouts, material flow, and production efficiency
- Establish metrics, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve yield, throughput, and on-time delivery.
- Support equipment selection, process qualification, and manufacturing expansion effort
Required Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in PCBA manufacturing and assembly environments.
- Strong background in SMT processes, reflow, rework, and board-level manufacturing.
- Experience leading engineers and technicians within a manufacturing organization.
- Proven success standing up, scaling, or insourcing production lines and manufacturing capabilities.
- Experience partnering with engineering teams on manufacturability and production readiness.
Technical Qualifications
- Strong understanding of manufacturing process development and qualification.
- Experience with DFM methodologies and engineering tradeoff discussions.
- Familiarity with ERP, MRP, MES, AOI, X-Ray inspection systems, DOE methodologies, and pick-and-place equipment.
- Ability to make data-driven decisions that improve quality, throughput, and operational efficiency.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred).
Work Environment
- On-site in San Francisco, CA, five days per week.
- Hands-on manufacturing leadership role requiring regular presence on the production floor.
