What You'll

  • Lead a team of manufacturing engineers, specialists, and technicians supporting PCBA assembly and testing operation
  • Develop and execute strategies to scale internal PCB assembly and production capabilities
  • Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) initiatives in partnership with hardware engineering team
  • Optimize factory layouts, material flow, and production efficiency
  • Establish metrics, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve yield, throughput, and on-time delivery.
  • Support equipment selection, process qualification, and manufacturing expansion effort

Required Experience

  • 5–10 years of experience in PCBA manufacturing and assembly environments.
  • Strong background in SMT processes, reflow, rework, and board-level manufacturing.
  • Experience leading engineers and technicians within a manufacturing organization.
  • Proven success standing up, scaling, or insourcing production lines and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Experience partnering with engineering teams on manufacturability and production readiness.

Technical Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing process development and qualification.
  • Experience with DFM methodologies and engineering tradeoff discussions.
  • Familiarity with ERP, MRP, MES, AOI, X-Ray inspection systems, DOE methodologies, and pick-and-place equipment.
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions that improve quality, throughput, and operational efficiency.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred).

Work Environment

  • On-site in San Francisco, CA, five days per week.
  • Hands-on manufacturing leadership role requiring regular presence on the production floor.
  • Fast-paced environment focused on innovation, execution, and continuous improvement.
