Our client is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead engineering, maintenance, and utilities operations at a manufacturing facility. This leadership role is responsible for improving equipment reliability, driving capital projects, and ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective plant operations. As a member of the site leadership team, you will oversee asset performance, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and develop a high-performing technical team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop engineering, maintenance, utilities, and technical teams.
- Drive a strong culture of safety and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs.
- Improve equipment reliability using root cause analysis, FMEA, and other reliability tools.
- Plan, manage, and execute capital projects from concept through startup, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget.
- Oversee plant utilities to ensure reliable operation and uninterrupted production.
- Partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and other departments to improve plant performance.
- Monitor KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
- Collaborate with corporate engineering teams and external vendors on technical initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline (advanced degree is a plus).
- 8+ years of engineering and/or maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous leadership experience managing engineering or maintenance teams.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance, reliability, and asset management best practices.
- Experience leading capital projects and managing budgets.
- Background in process manufacturing; chemical or fiber manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to support plant operations, including occasional after-hours or weekend responsibilities as needed.
