We are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical/BIM Engineer to support the design and coordination of building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, irrigation, medical gases, compressed air, and smoke evacuation systems. This role is responsible for delivering technically sound, code-compliant, and efficient designs across a range of commercial, healthcare, institutional, and industrial projects.
The ideal candidate brings solid technical skills, a working knowledge of building codes and standards, and the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary design and construction teams.
Mechanical Systems Design
- Contribute to concept, schematic, and detailed design for HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, LPG, water supply, and drainage systems … etc.
- Develop design criteria, basis of design reports, and system selection in line with project requirements.
- Perform engineering calculations (HVAC load calculations, hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing).
- Ensure compliance with applicable international standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, SBC, MOMRA and IPC, as well as local authority regulations.
Design Coordination
- Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, structural, electrical, and other disciplines.
- Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews, coordination workshops, and value engineering exercises.
- Resolve design clashes and technical issues in collaboration with the BIM and design teams.
Deliverables & Documentation
- Prepare design reports, calculations, drawings, and tender documents for review.
- Prepare drawings and BIM models using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Maintain design quality and consistency in accordance with internal QA/QC procedures and design standards.
Authority Submissions & Client Interface
- Prepare authority submission packages and respond to technical comments.
- Attend meetings with clients, project managers, and authorities to present design solutions and resolve technical queries.
- Provide technical input during tender clarifications and post-contract design support when required.
Team Collaboration
- Support knowledge sharing with team members and BIM Modelers.
- Prepare designs in accordance with team standards and incorporate feedback from senior engineers.
- Apply internal design standards, templates, and best practices in all deliverables.
