RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own consumer hardware programs from initial concept through high-volume production and product launch
- Define design criteria, collaborate on requirements, and drive system-level optimization
- Test, iterate, and improve products to ensure strong reliability and performance across diverse environments and use cases
- Design and develop production lines for manufacturing, including robotic end-effector design, process development, control systems, automation programming, and related functions
- Continuously improve production systems to achieve high throughput, yield, and reliability
- Build and optimize the full product lifecycle—from supply chain through final integration—balancing cost, complexity, and quality; collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement efficient in-house production
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
- Experience with CAD and FEA software tools
- 1+ years of professional experience in mechanical or electromechanical design, analysis, testing, and/or manufacturing (internships acceptable)
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical field
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design and analysis
- 2+ years of hands-on experience working with complex mechanical systems, ideally in a leadership or project ownership role
- Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (NX preferred)
- Strong understanding of GD&T, core mechanical engineering principles, structural analysis, and failure modes in complex systems
- Experience owning a component or assembly from initial concept through high-volume production
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability principles
- Exposure to production equipment and industrial technologies such as motion systems, dispensing systems, temperature control systems, laser sensors, injection molding, die casting, etc.
- Self-starter with strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
