Mechanical Design Engineer
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an innovative company operating at the forefront of space technology. Working as part of a highly skilled mechanical engineering team, you will contribute to the development of cutting-edge space applications and systems.
The Role
You will be responsible for the design and development of mechanical assemblies and ground support/test equipment used in space environments. This is a hands-on engineering role involving the full product lifecycle, from concept through to validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical assemblies for space applications
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings
- Work with a variety of components and materials suited for space environments
- Perform structural and thermal analysis using ANSYS
- Support and participate in design reviews
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electronics and systems engineers
- Contribute to testing and validation activities, including ground test equipment
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience in 3D CAD (e.g. SolidWorks or similar)
- Strong understanding of structural and thermal analysis (ANSYS preferred)
- Experience designing mechanical systems or assemblies
- Ability to work within a collaborative engineering team
