Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Mechanical Engineer role located in Miami, FL. The Mechanical Engineer will design and develop mechanical systems as part of MEP/FP projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and related building systems for commercial and residential developments. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading the mechanical engineering team in preparing detailed plans and specifications in Revit and AutoCAD, performing load calculations, equipment selections, and system layouts in accordance with applicable codes and standards. The person in this role will coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, review shop drawings, support construction administration activities, and assist with resolving field issues. The Mechanical Engineer will also contribute to project documentation, participate in design meetings, and help ensure that deliverables meet quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, including HVAC system design, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for developing coordinated MEP design plans.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and industry guidelines (e.g., ASHRAE, local building codes).
- Experience with load calculations, equipment sizing, and preparation of construction documents.
- Effective collaboration skills for working with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reports, documentation, and client interaction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field; EIT or PE licensure in Florida is a plus.
- Prior experience in consulting engineering or MEP design for commercial and residential buildings is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Miami, FL, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
