Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to oversee the installation, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of production machinery in a plastic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in industrial machinery, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure smooth production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of production machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults to minimize production downtime.
- Plan and execute maintenance schedules for all plant machinery and utilities.
- Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Coordinate with the production team to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
- Supervise the installation, commissioning, and modification of new machinery and equipment.
- Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, and spare parts inventory.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce maintenance costs and improve equipment reliability.
- Train machine operators on proper equipment handling and basic maintenance practices.
Educational Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Government Polytechnic Institute.
Experience Requirements
- At least 5 year(s)
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Manufacturing (Light Engineering and Heavy Industry)
Additional Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a plastic manufacturing factory.
- Hands-on experience with injection molding, extrusion, or other plastic processing machinery will be an added advantage.
- Experience in industrial maintenance, utilities, and plant equipment management is preferred.
