Position Summary
We are seeking a senior Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead the mechanical domain within a multidisciplinary R&D organization developing complex thermal-fluid systems.
This role combines technical authority, team leadership, and engineering governance. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that mechanical designs are robust, scalable, and aligned with system-level performance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Design Ownership
- Lead the mechanical design of complex assemblies and subsystems across multiple development programs
- Provide hands-on technical guidance in solving challenging design problems involving:
- Thermal constraints
- Fluid interaction
- Structural and material considerations
- Drive engineering trade-offs between performance, manufacturability, cost, and reliability
Engineering Quality & Methodologies
- Establish and enforce engineering best practices, including:
- DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Assembly (DFA)
- Tolerance analysis and design validation methods
- Lead structured design reviews at all development stages
- Ensure proper documentation, traceability, and version control
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage and mentor a team of mechanical engineers across different experience levels
- Conduct performance evaluations and define development plans
- Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, and engineering excellence
Execution & Delivery
- Support planning and prioritization of mechanical work across projects
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality designs under dynamic conditions
- Identify risks early and drive mitigation plans
Qualifications
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development
- Proven experience leading engineering teams or domains
- Strong background in: Complex system design, Failure analysis and design validation and Experience working in multidisciplinary R&D environments
