Airswift is currently seeking a Mechanical Inspector for a 2-year assignment supporting a major power plant project in Gregory, TX.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Quality Assurance
- Conduct routine and detailed inspections of mechanical systems, including boilers, pressure vessels, piping, turbines, and rotating equipment.
- Inspect high voltage-related mechanical components such as cooling systems, transformers (mechanical aspects), and associated infrastructure.
- Verify that installations, repairs, and modifications comply with engineering specifications, codes, and standards (ASME, API, ANSI, IEEE, NEC).
- Perform dimensional checks, material verification, and weld inspections (visual and NDT coordination).
Boiler & Pressure Systems
- Inspect boilers, heat exchangers, steam lines, valves, and safety relief devices for compliance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
- Monitor boiler performance and identify issues such as corrosion, fatigue, scaling, and leaks.
- Ensure proper documentation of boiler inspections, maintenance, and certifications.
High Voltage & Power Plant Systems
- Support inspections of systems in high voltage areas, ensuring safe operation of mechanical components supporting electrical equipment.
- Verify proper installation and mechanical integrity of cooling systems, cable supports, enclosures, and structural elements.
- Collaborate with electrical teams to ensure integrated system safety.
