About the Role

We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of process equipment at our CO₂ production facility. This role plays a critical part in maintaining plant reliability, improving productivity, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Maintenance & Integrity

  • Ensure safe and reliable operation of process equipment with minimum cost of ownership
  • Lead Mechanical Integrity (MI) and Process Safety Information (PSI) activities
  • Define, implement, and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Plan, budget, and execute corrective maintenance activities
  • Maintain critical spares and ensure availability of vendor/contractor support
  • Use SAP PM or CMMS for maintenance planning and tracking

Equipment Scope

  • Static Equipment: Pressure vessels, columns, heat exchangers, cryogenic tanks, cold box, storage tanks, cooling towers
  • Rotating Equipment: Compressors, steam & expansion turbines, cryogenic and non-cryogenic pumps, refrigeration units, cooling tower fans
  • Piping Systems: Valves, filters, piping components

Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise and coach plant technicians
  • Manage and supervise external contractors for mechanical works
  • Ensure work is executed safely and in compliance with Linde standards

Troubleshooting & Reliability

  • Investigate equipment trips and failures
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and ensure corrective actions are closed
  • Support safe and efficient plant restart after incidents or trips
  • Perform contingency planning and emergency response actions

Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Design and implement minor modifications and emergency repairs
  • Initiate and manage Engineering Management of Change (MOC)
  • Support audits, alerts, directives, and plant improvement initiatives
  • Maintain and update as-built drawings

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and obtain required approvals
  • Interface with government authorities as needed
  • Report maintenance costs, downtime, RCFA results, and action closures

Key Interfaces

  • External: Suppliers, contractors, regulatory authorities
  • Internal: Procurement, site operations team, engineering platforms, HR

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3–5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within continuous process plants
  • Experience with CMMS, preferably SAP PM
  • Required mechanical authorizations per local statutory regulations

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with rotating and static equipment in process plants
  • Strong knowledge of preventive & predictive maintenance techniques
  • Familiarity with national & international mechanical codes and standards
  • Understanding of ASU / HYCO / CO₂ plants and associated hazards
  • Ability to read P&IDs, control logic, and loop diagrams
  • Proven experience in Root Cause Failure Analysis
