We are currently seeking to appoint a Mechanical Site Engineer to join Jaber Group Real Estate in Beirut, Lebanon.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties, including but not limited to:
- Follow-up on day-to-day mechanical site works, including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, drainage, water supply, pumps, and related installations, to ensure execution is aligned with approved drawings and project requirements.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to resolve mechanical work interfaces and support smooth site progress.
- Escalate delays, clashes, access constraints, incomplete works, or recurring execution issues to the Project Manager to support timely resolution.
- Review mechanical drawings, shop drawings, specifications, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and approved submittals before execution, to identify discrepancies, missing details, or constructability concerns.
- Raise and follow-up on RFIs (Requests for Information), technical clarifications, and site queries related to mechanical works, to prevent delays or rework.
- Support coordination between mechanical works and architectural, structural, electrical, and finishing activities to reduce clashes and execution conflicts.
- Monitor mechanical works against approved specifications, method statements, ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans), checklists, and quality requirements.
- Inspect delivered mechanical materials and equipment against approved submittals, specifications, and project requirements before installation.
- Identify mechanical quality issues, deviations, or NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and follow on corrective actions until closure.
- Track mechanical work progress, manpower, quantities, installation status, inspection results, and pending issues, to support accurate project reporting.
- Prepare and share mechanical site updates, observations, risks, and required decisions with the Project Manager.
- Maintain organized records for mechanical inspections, approvals, drawings, submittals, RFIs, testing records, and site instructions to support traceability.
- Follow-up on testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and balancing activities for mechanical systems, where applicable.
- Support the closure of mechanical defects, punch list items, and handover observations to ensure systems are ready for acceptance.
- Review mechanical closeout documents, including as-built drawings, warranties, testing certificates, O&M (Operation and Maintenance) manuals, and equipment documentation.
- Monitor mechanical works to ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) requirements, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), housekeeping, and approved work methods.
- Report unsafe practices, site hazards, or repeated non-compliance related to mechanical activities.
- Promote disciplined site execution by following approved procedures, reporting channels, and documentation requirements.
Job Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience
Minimum of 6 years of experience in mechanical site engineering, construction supervision, or MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) project execution, preferably within real estate, building construction, contracting, or consultancy environments.
