Role Description The Mechanical Technical Office Engineer – Engineering Studies & Water Infrastructure Projects role is a full-time, on-site position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves preparing and reviewing mechanical engineering designs, calculations, and technical studies for water, stormwater, and wastewater networks, treatment plants, pumping stations, and related infrastructure. The engineer will coordinate with project managers, site teams, and multidisciplinary engineering disciplines to ensure designs meet project specifications, client requirements, and relevant codes and standards. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing technical documentation, preparing material submittals, reviewing shop drawings, supporting tender and bid preparation, and providing technical support for construction and operation & maintenance activities. The role also includes contributing to risk assessments, quality assurance processes, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency and sustainability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 4–8 years of experience in technical office, estimation, tendering, or mechanical project execution.
- Experience in water, wastewater, irrigation, pumping stations, treatment plants, or MEP projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to read and analyze tender documents, technical specifications, and engineering drawings in English.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze tender documents and technical specifications.
- Perform quantity take-offs and mechanical BOQ analysis.
- Prepare RFQs for suppliers and subcontractors.
- Review technical proposals and prepare technical comparison sheets.
- Support the estimating team with technical analysis and cost evaluation.
