Hatfield Group Engineering is an MEP/FP engineering firm is headquartered in New York City with an office in Chicago. We design Building MEP systems for ambitious, low-carbon, and iconic structures world-wide. Our projects are varied and range from hospitality to commercial to high rise towers. The MEP/FP Engineer will work directly with our Principals, clients, and our team, supporting projects from design through CA.

The role
We have several opportunities available and are seeking the right candidates to support a growing team. We are looking for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing/fire protection engineers with 3-5 years of experience designing MEP/FP systems. Your primary focus will be performing calculations, preparing drawing sets for issues, coordination with clients/architects and other team members. Your work involves familiarity with NYC Building Code and applying reference standards to your work. The range of responsibilities and opportunities for this position is limited only by the drive of the successful candidate, this role has plenty of upward growth potential.
What your day-to-day looks like
You will use analysis tools like HAP, IES, ETAP, Elite and more to prepare calculations and size systems for a variety of projects. We promise to keep you challenged and never bored. Here are some regular tasks you may undertake:
Develop high quality and organized calculations
Design MEP/FP systems for a growing portfolio of work
Coordinate directly with team members during design and construction
Manage the preparation of drawing sets for issue
Coordinate with the internal team to provide support to your projects.
Requirements
3-7 years of professional experience within an MEP/FP engineering firm
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Master’s Degree preferred
FE required, PE preferred
Plumbing and MEP Coordination skills
Electrical Engineering and Building Services skills
Experience in Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems for large Buildings
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work cooperatively within a small group of design professionals
Proficiency with Revit and Microsoft Office
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and on multiple deadlines
An appreciation of good design and enthusiasm for sustainable, low carbon design

We offer $85,000 to $150,000 based on experience.
