Location: Amman, Jordan (On-Site – Estarta HQ)
Reports To: Senior IT Manager
Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Working Days: Sunday to Thursday or Monday to Friday (Based on business requirements)
Position Summary
The Mid-Level Network Engineer will support the design, implementation, administration, monitoring, and optimization of Estarta's enterprise network infrastructure. The role involves working with LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, internet connectivity, firewalls, switching, routing, and cloud-managed networking solutions.
The engineer will collaborate with internal IT teams to ensure reliable connectivity across the organization while participating in infrastructure upgrades, troubleshooting incidents, implementing security best practices, and supporting new technology deployments.
System administration experience is considered an advantage, but is not mandatory for this role.
Key Responsibilities
Network Administration & Operations
- Manage and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, and internet connectivity.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco switches, routers, and wireless infrastructure.
- Administer Cisco Meraki cloud-managed networking solutions, including:
- MX Security Appliances
- MS Switches
- MR Wireless Access Points
- Meraki Dashboard
- Monitor network health, bandwidth utilization, and infrastructure performance.
- Diagnose and resolve network outages, connectivity issues, packet loss, latency, and routing problems.
- Maintain VPN connectivity for remote users and branch offices.
- Support firewall configurations and network security policies.
- Configure VLANs, trunking, STP, EtherChannel, routing protocols, DHCP, DNS, NAT, and ACLs.
- Participate in network expansion, upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvements.
- Ensure high availability and redundancy of network services.
Network Monitoring & Performance
- Monitor network infrastructure using enterprise monitoring tools.
- Perform proactive health checks.
- Analyze network performance and recommend improvements.
- Respond to incidents within agreed service levels.
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring network issues.
- Maintain accurate network diagrams and documentation.
Security & Compliance
- Implement networking best practices and security standards.
- Support firewall policy management.
- Assist in securing wired and wireless environments.
- Participate in vulnerability remediation activities.
- Support network access control and segmentation initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with internal IT policies and standards.
Collaboration & Support
- Provide Level 2/Level 3 technical support for networking issues.
- Work closely with system administrators and IT support teams.
- Support infrastructure projects and office expansions.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers when required.
- Participate in planned maintenance activities outside business hours when necessary.
Documentation
- Maintain accurate technical documentation.
- Update network topology diagrams.
- Document configurations, procedures, and operational standards.
- Create implementation and troubleshooting guides.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in:
- Computer Engineering
- Computer Science
- Network Engineering
- Telecommunications Engineering
- Information Technology
- Or a related technical field.
Experience
- 3–5 years of professional experience in Network Engineering.
- Experience supporting enterprise network environments.
- Experience with Cisco networking technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki is highly preferred.
- Experience working in medium to large-sized enterprise environments is an advantage.
