- Mold Maintenance & Optimization: Lead the mold maintenance section by planning and executing preventive maintenance (PM) schedules. Diagnose and resolve root causes of mold-related issues to minimize defects and rework.
- Project Management & NPI: Manage tooling projects during the design and trial stages. Review technical drawings, participate in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) discussions, and manage mold modifications.
- Quality Control: Enforce quality management systems (such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001). Conduct floor audits, ensure inspection documentation is properly filed, and establish corrective action plans for any non-conformance.
- Team Leadership: Supervise mold supervisors, engineers, and machinists. Coordinate daily work activities, evaluate performance, and assist in training.
- Operations Support: Control parameters, optimize machine parameter settings, and coordinate closely with production teams to ensure manufacturing readiness and meet output goals.
Typical Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience: Extensive background (often 5 to 10+ years) in plastic injection molding or die-casting. Minimum of 3–5 years in a supervisory or assistant manager capacity.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in technical drawing interpretation, machine parameter settings, and using measurement instruments (e.g., CMM, Micrometers, Calipers). NCII certification in machining may also be a distinct advantage.
