Day and Night Shift Available. This opportunity works directly with a mission-critical data center colo provider. Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of controls and building automation systems platforms such as Electrical and Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Building Automation Systems (BAS), or Building Monitor Systems (BMS) in a data center environment; perform testing and operations
- Provide emergency support for critical controls systems onsite
- Monitor, maintain, and act as incident first-response for liquid cooling cabinet systems to ensure optimal thermal management
- Manage, run diagnostics, and troubleshoot infrastructure monitoring systems to maximize uptime and meet SLAs
- Perform Remote Hands / Smart Hands services for tenants, including racking, cabling, and hardware diagnostics on compute and network equipment
- Conduct routine facility rounds and respond to emergency infrastructure alerts during the night shift
- Support the facility team during maintenance activities and incident response
- Operate software to ensure site infrastructure equipment and systems operate with minimal downtime
- Troubleshoot system errors and conflicts within software and operating systems
- Adhere to and review existing facility operating procedures (MOPs, SOPs, EOPs) and participate in defining new ones related to control processes
- Monitor contractors and vendors for procedural, safety, environmental, and risk-mitigation compliance with SOPs and policies
- Provide effective communication and updates to mitigate risk and coordinate shifts
- Uphold high standards of facility operation and appearance and maintain respectful conduct with colleagues and customers
- Monitor fire detection and suppression systems, battery monitoring, LAN mapping, and records keeping
- Repair and troubleshoot controls systems and hardware (relays, controllers, etc.); possess working knowledge of data center access and CCTV systems
- Assist with integration of a CMMS for all software and hardware systems
- Oversee change management and control system upgrades while maintaining uptime on existing equipment
- Direct and monitor subcontractors (onsite and offsite) including scheduling, resource management, and coordination of design, construction, and start-up services
- Install, coordinate, and wire BMS / HVAC controllers and field devices including low voltage terminations
- Troubleshoot BAS systems and discuss corrective actions with technical support
- Collect data and perform datacenter rounds and system readings
- Develop process documentation and training materials
- Install and wire BAS controllers and field devices including low voltage terminations
- Execute troubleshooting of BAS systems and apply corrective actions
- Perform QA / QC of BAS and integrated systems using BAS software tools
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience in Critical Facilities / Data Center infrastructure operations and management software
- Working knowledge of networking, routing and switching, and equipment from Cisco, Moxa, Ubiquiti; familiarity with Modbus, TCP/IP, BACnet; ability to resolve network and hardware problems
- Ability to monitor network performance and identify areas for improvement
- Ability to troubleshoot to resolve equipment malfunctions or failures
- Certification or experience in cybersecurity principles and best practices
- Ability to implement, document, and maintain network hardware and network security
- Experience installing and troubleshooting low-voltage control system wiring
- Hands-on experience with one or more building automation/industrial control systems (e.g., Honeywell, Alerton, Distech, Tridium Niagara N4, Allen-Bradley, Strux Ware)
- Preferably 2-5+ years’ experience with DCIM, EPMS, BAS, or BMS
