Role Overview
The Operations & Maintenance Engineer is responsible for supporting the daily operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment systems at client sites. This role focuses on ensuring plant reliability, equipment availability, and compliance with operational and safety requirements through routine inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely corrective actions. The engineer will work closely with senior engineers and site personnel to maintain efficient plant performance while delivering high-quality service to clients.
Responsibilities
- Support the daily operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plants at client sites.
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process equipment.
- Assist in monitoring plant performance and identify operational issues to minimize downtime.
- Carry out corrective maintenance and coordinate with internal teams or vendors when required.
- Record maintenance activities, inspections, equipment performance, and service reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist in equipment installation, testing, and minor commissioning activities when required.
- Support site surveys, maintenance planning, and technical discussions with customers.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company standards.
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams regarding maintenance activities and operational issues.
- Participate in on-call support or emergency maintenance when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- experience in operations, maintenance, service engineering, or industrial plant environments. Fresh graduates with relevant internship experience are encouraged to apply.
- Basic understanding of water or wastewater treatment processes is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment, pumps, valves, piping systems, electrical systems, instrumentation, and industrial automation.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Willing to work primarily at customer sites and travel as required.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proactive, organized, and eager to learn.
- Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
- Possess a valid driving licence is an advantage.
