Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Operations Manager to lead the end-to-end operations of a manufacturing plant. This leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence across production, quality, engineering, supply chain, and workforce management while ensuring efficiency, product quality, cost optimization, and a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Manufacturing Management
- Plan, schedule, and oversee production activities to meet volume, quality, and delivery targets
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes
- Monitor production KPIs and implement corrective actions
- Manage capacity planning and optimize plant resource utilization
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to product quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with quality teams to reduce defects and enhance customer satisfaction
- Maintain compliance with ISO standards, statutory regulations, and internal SOPs
Engineering & Maintenance
- Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment uptime
- Lead capital expenditure projects including plant upgrades, automation, and new machinery
- Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, and TPM initiatives
- Manage tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing line efficiency
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Promote and maintain a zero-incident safety culture
- Ensure compliance with all HSE regulations and safety protocols
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations
People Management & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional teams
- Manage workforce planning, shift scheduling, and performance management
- Build a high-performance, continuous improvement culture
- Identify training needs and develop employee capabilities
Budget & Cost Management
- Monitor operational costs, cost per unit, and budget variances
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across operations
- Report financial performance with actionable recommendations
Reporting & Stakeholder Management
- Provide operational reports to senior leadership on performance, quality, and safety
- Represent operations in management reviews, audits, and regulatory inspections
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering or a related field
- Master’s degree or MBA is an advantage
- Minimum 20 years of experience in manufacturing operations
- At least 5–7 years in a senior plant management role
- Experience in consumer durables, refrigeration, HVAC, or white goods manufacturing is highly preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in manufacturing operations and plant management
- Proven experience in lean manufacturing, TPM, and continuous improvement
- Strong leadership experience managing large teams (200+ employees)
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong financial acumen and cost management capability
- Knowledge of ISO standards and regulatory compliance
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to drive operational efficiency and business performance
