IFC’s Advisory Services is organized into four primary businesses: Access to Finance, Investment Climate, Sustainable Business, and Public-Private Partnerships. Increasingly programs are cross-cutting and focus on more than one of IFC’s strategic priority areas (agribusiness, infrastructure, climate change, gender and financial inclusion)
The Partnerships and Advisory Services Operations Department (CPA) enhances IFC Advisory Services (AS) through streamlined operations, timely and accurate analysis and reporting, effective partnership development, and training. One of CPA’s roles, among others, is to build advisory infrastructure, and strengthens staff capacity.
Due to growing need for integrated management information systems to support IFC AS, The Partnerships Advisory Services Department (CPA) is working on enhancing the current AS systems and improving the business analytics function to support the IFC AS business and its Management team by facilitate improved and enhanced decision making process. The department effort seeks to continue enhancing current systems like Advisory Services Operational Portal (ASOP), Integrated Budgeting Information Solution (IBIS) and the Advisory Service Information Delivery and Reporting platform.
CPA is seeking a talented Operation Officer that is eager to participate in exciting and future initiatives that will have a significant impact on IFC AS’s financial and operational process as well as reporting functions. The individual should have solid SAP Configuration relevant experience working in systems design, ideally with ability to for mapping solutions to business requirements within the standards framework and program principles in place work effectively with various internal stakeholders and assists in developing and delivering these solutions that are relevant to both IFC AS strategic directions as well as the current AS business model. The role ensures adherence to SAP leading practices and ensures business value is delivered in accordance with business transformation objectives. The Operation Officer will report to the Head of CPAPM.
Duties and Accountabilities
– Support in the delivery of the current Advisory Service Financial Management program.
– Serve as a SAP solution expert for the IFC Advisory Services in assisting the implementation team to help ensure the designed solution meets AS/IFC/WBG business requirements.
– Leverage strong understanding of the current SAP environment in the WBG with focus on SAP modules utilized by IFC Advisory Services ASFM project (BCS, BPC, eTrustFund)
– In partnership with colleagues from CPAPM and CPAFM, execute and support the deployment of current and future SAP/Financial solutions to strengthen AS financial management.
– Work on developing new solutions to enhance budgeting, recording and reporting of AS Client contributions as well as processes related to billing/invoicing by leveraging his/her understanding of the business requirements on one side and the SAP practices on the other side (GL, FM, AR, CO Controlling & BPC).
– Develop and maintain the functional design documents and support role based profile changes. The individual is expected to perform all tasks in the development cycle, starting from business process definition, configuration and unit testing, assistance and follow-up with user testing, troubleshoot any obstacles or challenges encountered by the development of new solution and training /post-live support and fixes.
– Initiate and develop other system solutions or enhancements to existing system solutions (e.g. ASOP, IBIS) as an integral part of the CPAPM team.Maintain effective working relationship and work closely with all internal stakeholders (e.g. AS Finance staff, CIT, CFA, IBRD, IMT) to ensure smooth delivery of system solutions for Advisory Services business.
– Enlist the contribution of internal subject matter experts (SMEs) across various units and departments to provide support and information to operation staff (PLs).
– Ensure tasks are appropriately prioritized, goals and deliverables are clearly defined and project implementation plans are developed and executed.
– Collaborate in all change management activities that will be undertaken by the department including training and outreach activities across IFC impacted users group.
– Provide technical expertise in the area of IFC’s AS financial management processes, in particular budgeting, funding, tracking expenses, client contributions and reporting;
Selection Criteria
– Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience;
– Degree in accounting, finance, or other related area;
– Post-graduate degree in an appropriate discipline (such as Masters in Finance or Information Systems, MBA, MPA, CPA or equivalent degree)
– 5-8 years of experience working with SAP
– Good knowledge of and familiarity with IFC policies and operational procedures, especially in the area of Trust Funds;
– Experience in not-for-profit accounting systems and financial reporting will be an advantage;
– High degree of initiative and ability to work independently;
– Capacity to multi-task and deliver high quality work under pressure;
– Proven experience managing relatively complex projects, resolving differences, and achieving successful outcomes among multiple and diverse set of stakeholders.
– Proven program/ project design and management skills. Proven team leadership skills including ability to coach, mentor and develop colleagues to deliver high quality results
– Strong business development and client relationship management skills and ability to establish credibility among clients.
