About the role
We are looking for a Plant manager to manage our R&D and production facility in Kartal, Istanbul, Turkey. In this role, you will optimize production processes to reduce cost and increase capacity for the manufacturing of our existing products, and take complete ownership of the development of new products. This includes hiring and managing the local team, maintaining and establishing new supplier and logistics partnerships, and ensuring that every product leaving the line meets our quality and performance standards.
Who we are
For more than 20 years, we at TMD Security have been protecting more than 400.000 ATMs in over 36 countries against all sorts of attacks and fraud. Our solutions combine in-house developed hardware and software to solve the world's toughest security challenges.
We are currently working on multiple exciting new and existing products:
- TMD Security: a variety of different ATM security products – most of which are electronic.
- TMD Access Management: a software platform combined with electronic locks and sensors to securely manage access to resources, such as ATMs, cabinets, vaults, rooms and more (suitable for a variety of different industries).
- TMD Locks: a B2C & B2B product line of electronic bike locks made specifically for the fast-growing e-bike market.
- And some other projects we can't publicly disclose yet…
Our headquarters is in The Netherlands (Almere), our Hardware R&D and manufacturing facility is located in Turkey (Kartal, Istanbul) and our software team is located in Poland (Warsaw).
Responsibilities
- Lead our manufacturing facility in Turkey, and its 10+ person strong team.
- Manage the development of new products, including helping define PRDs, calculate BOMs, and going beyond what most people think is possible in terms of innovation.
- Define, implement and improve production processes, workflows, and quality standards.
- Manage supplier relationships, including sourcing, cost negotiations, and component quality.
- Oversee supply chain operations, inventory management, and logistics.
- Hire, train, and manage the local production and operations team.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices and drive continuous improvement.
- Own production budgets, timelines, and KPIs to ensure efficiency and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

- Extensive experience in hardware development, production, manufacturing, and operations leadership.
- Proven experience managing a manufacturing facility.
- Strong understanding of electromechanical assembly, quality control, and supply chain management.
- Experience working with suppliers and contract manufacturers.
- Excellent communication skills in Turkish and English.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
- Hands-on, problem-solving mindset – someone who enjoys being on the factory floor as much as being in strategy meetings.
