Your Impact

  • Lead and deliver hydrotechnical designs that support safe, climate‑resilient infrastructure across Western Canada.
  • Develop recent business and client relationships while supporting the WSP’s current portfolio.
  • Develop watershed, hydrologic, and hydraulic models that drive decisions on major municipal and provincial water projects.
  • Independently determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
  • Anticipate business needs, secure required resources, and lead initiatives.
  • Oversee complex water resources assessments and provide senior technical guidance to interdisciplinary project teams.
  • Produce clear, data‑driven reports that inform high‑profile planning, permitting, and design initiatives.
  • Collaborate with environmental scientists, transportation engineers, and planners to develop integrated, forward‑thinking solutions.
  • Apply innovative tools, methods, and modelling approaches to enhance project outcomes and sustainability.
  • Mentor developing engineers and contribute to a culture of collaboration, learning, and technical excellence.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, regulators, and partners while ensuring technical excellence and high‑quality project delivery.

Skills That Set You Apart

  • A relevant undergraduate degree in civil or environmental engineering, hydrology
  • Registered as a P.Eng. with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC), or eligible within six months
  • A minimum of 15 years of consulting or related experience in hydrotechnical engineering consulting or closely related field
  • Deep technical experience in hydrotechnical or water resources engineering, demonstrated through complex project delivery.
  • A proven track record of successful business development, fostering client relationships and delivering successful projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling tools (e.g., HEC‑RAS, MIKE, PCSWMM, GIS‑based workflows).
  • Experience developing models and designs for flood mitigation, river engineering, drainage systems, or watershed studies.
  • Strong understanding of BC regulatory frameworks, permitting processes and best practices for hydrotechnical design.
  • Familiarity with construction site inspections, field techniques and experience in guiding junior field staff while ensuring that all activities adhere to company safety policies.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $147,500 – $195,400

MB & ON: $134,600 – $184,600

NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $133,200 – $176,900

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
