Job Summary: The Engineering Manager is a leadership role responsible for managing and guiding the engineering team in the development and mainteance of the Resort property including villas and homes. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to oversee the entire engineering process while ensuring high-quality deliverables on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor a team of engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff.
- Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability within the engineering department.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members.
- Maintenance and Repairs:
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to keep all resort facilities in optimal condition.
- Coordinate and oversee repairs and maintenance projects, ensuring minimal disruption to guest experiences.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance issues promptly.
- HVAC Expertise:
- Utilize your HVAC knowledge to ensure the effective operation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Collaborate with external HVAC contractors when necessary.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements in HVAC systems.
- Budget Management:
- Manage the engineering department's budget, including cost control and procurement of necessary equipment and supplies.
- Prepare and present budget proposals and forecasts to the resort management.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, codes, and environmental standards.
- Establish and maintain documentation for safety procedures and emergency response plans.
- Guest Satisfaction:
- Prioritize guest comfort and satisfaction by addressing engineering-related concerns promptly and efficiently.
- Collaborate with other resort departments to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering preferred).
- Proven experience in engineering management, preferably in a hospitality or resort setting.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, with relevant certifications or licenses being a plus.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
