  • To assist the product development department and develop new packaging concepts whilst delivering on the organisation’s innovative and sustainability objectives;
  • To establish product and process specifications that enable for the maximising of production efficiencies as well as competitively priced product offerings;
  • To assist in preparing product and process specifications and tolerances for all new products and designers, which meet all food safety, regulatory and quality requirements and have been agreed with the customer;
  • To ensure there is 0 development failures related to Layout and Loading Specification Sheets, Graphics Development, Tooling Delays/Errors, Ink Matching Delays/Errors, Internal Order Delays/Errors, Colour Folder Errors/Delays, Trial Run Delays/Errors, and Product Manufacturing Specification Delays/Errors;
  • To maintain 100% complete set of development records for all new product developments: NPD Calendar, Weekly NPD Brief, Minutes of Meeting, Post-mortem Review Notes, Signed Customer Approvals, Valid and Accurate Specifications, Valid Statement of Compliance, New Product Validation Reports, Food Safety Lab Test Reports, and Lot A samples;
  • To follow and continue to implement all Product Development SOP’s in line with Company established protocol;
  • To ensure all new product development goals are achieved;
  • To be fully well versed with the quality assurance standard (Incoming, In-Process, and Outgoing);
  • To assist in maintaining up-to-date specifications;
  • To increase sales by way of new product development within the various categories in accordance with the sales targets and ensuring all the sales targets and goals are met through the development of effective packaging solutions;
  • To carry out periodical reviews or verification that product layouts, product and process specifications, and designs are always optimised to achieve efficiency and material savings;
  • To assist the organisation with all strategic initiatives that are embarked upon;
  • To ensure all audit and compliance goals for the Company are achieved;
  • To comply with all company policies, procedures and regulations and take all necessary precautions to ensure product safety and quality is never compromised in the course of carrying out all your duties and tasks;
  • Analysing processes and implementing measures which will effect continuous improvements to efficiencies and product quality, in accordance with Company’s Quality & Food Safety Policy as well as our Manufacturing Philosophy; and
  • Carrying out all other related tasks as may be required or assigned by your Manager.
