Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Product Engineer (PE) to support new product development and manufacturing. This role is responsible for creating and maintaining engineering documentation, Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical drawings, and assembly instructions while working closely with suppliers and internal teams to prepare products for production. We welcome candidates who are eager to learn and grow in a manufacturing environment. Previous engineering or manufacturing experience is preferred but not required for candidates with strong technical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain part numbers, Engineering Bills of Materials (E-BOMs), and Manufacturing Bills of Materials (M-BOMs) for new and existing products.
- Review engineering drawings and product designs to identify required components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Coordinate with suppliers to review product specifications, engineering requirements, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Prepare and organize engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and technical documentation for production release.
- Develop and maintain assembly Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Create and revise 2D engineering drawings for OEM products based on design requirements.
- Assist with prototype and first article assembly, functional testing, and product validation.
- Support material sourcing by identifying required components and coordinating with purchasing when needed.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Quality, and other departments to support new product introduction and ongoing production.
- Assist with engineering documentation updates, product improvements, and other related projects as assigned.
- Assist with other production and manufacturing tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, Product Design, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed, including occasional evenings and Saturdays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing, production, or engineering environment.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as Creo, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.
- Experience creating and maintaining E-BOMs, M-BOMs, engineering drawings, or manufacturing documentation.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, sheet metal fabrication, machining, or prototype development.
- Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional teams
Work Schedule
- Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Overtime may be required based on production needs.
