TR Industries (WEG in NZ) are looking for a technically strong and commercially aware Product Manager to take ownership of our Motors and Gearbox product portfolio in New Zealand. Based in our HQ in Tauriko, Tauranga this is a good chance to enjoy the lifestyle benefits of the Bay of Plenty.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will shape product strategy, support key customers, and elevate our technical and sales capability across the business.

About the Role
You will act as the technical and commercial authority for our Motors and Gearbox range, working closely with internal teams, customers, and WEG global business units.
This role combines:
- Application engineering
- Product management
- Team leadership
- Customer engagement
You will play a key role in strengthening our position in the NZ market by ensuring our solutions are fit-for-purpose, competitive, and trusted.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and application support for motors and gearbox solutions across a wide range of industries
- Analyse specifications and work with the sales team to deliver accurate, fit-for-purpose quotations
- Lead and support the team responsible for nationwide product support
- Develop and maintain pricing structures aligned with margin and growth targets
- Deliver technical training to internal teams, OEMs, and end users
- Support on-site commissioning and troubleshooting when required
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs
- Act as the key interface between WEG global teams and the NZ market
- Manage warranty and quality cases, ensuring timely resolution and continuous improvement
What You Bring
- 5+ years’ experience in industrial gearboxes and/or electric motors
- Strong understanding of:
- Gearbox selection (torque, ratios, service factors, load profiles)
- Motor applications and integration
- Background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (degree or equivalent experience)
- Ability to operate confidently across both technical and commercial discussions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers, engineers, and sales teams
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
