About the Role
We are looking for a highly energetic and hands-on Production Engineer to support our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of machinery, utilities, production processes, and shop-floor management. This role requires a problem-solver who can drive productivity improvements, reduce downtime, and work closely with operators to achieve production targets.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations
Support daily production planning and execution.
Monitor production output and machine utilization.
Ensure achievement of production targets with optimum efficiency.
Coordinate with operators and supervisors for smooth shift operations.
Machinery & Utilities
Monitor and support operation of:
· Extruders
· Machining equipment
· Chillers
· Vacuum systems
· Air compressors
· Plumbing and utility systems
Coordinate preventive maintenance activities.
Assist in breakdown troubleshooting and restoration.
Productivity Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve output and reduce downtime.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for breakdowns and production losses.
Suggest and implement jigs, fixtures, rigs, and process improvements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.
Team Management
Supervise and guide operators and workers.
Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and operational procedures.
Conduct training and skill development activities where required.
Maintain discipline and positive engagement on the shop floor.
Reporting & Analysis
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
Track key performance indicators including:
Production output
Machine uptime
Downtime
Productivity
Rejections
Energy consumption
Maintain production and maintenance records.
Desired Skills
Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and industrial machinery.
Hands-on troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical systems.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance and production management.
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
Ability to work closely with shop-floor teams and lead by example.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, TPM, and OEE concepts will be an advantage.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Engineer with 2–4 years of manufacturing experience.
Comfortable working on the shop floor and handling workers directly.
Strong drive to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
Self-motivated, disciplined, and result-oriented.
Willing to take ownership and grow into larger manufacturing leadership roles.
Qualification
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Production Engineering, or equivalent.
