Job Purpose:
Responsible for supervising and coordinating a team of operators and technicians to achieve production targets in line with quality, safety, and efficiency standards. The role ensures effective workforce allocation, oversees daily shop-floor operations, and drives continuous improvement within the team. Acting as the frontline leader, the Team Leader plays a pivotal role in enforcing discipline, motivating the workforce, and ensuring operational excellence on a day-to-day basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, direct, and motivate operators during assigned shifts to ensure production goals are achieved.
- Plan and allocate daily tasks and resources, balancing workloads across team members for maximum efficiency.
- Monitor operational performance, addressing process deviations, downtime, and quality issues in real time.
- Enforce compliance with safety protocols, ISO standards, and company procedures within the production area.
- Conduct shift meetings to communicate targets, expectations, and safety reminders to the team.
- Liaise with Maintenance and Engineering teams to coordinate immediate response to breakdowns or technical issues.
- Track material usage, scrap, and downtime, preparing accurate shift-level performance reports.
- Support implementation of lean practices, workplace organization (5S), and waste reduction initiatives.
- Train and coach team members on correct operating methods, safety procedures, and continuous improvement practices.
- Escalate unresolved or recurring issues to Section Head/Production Engineer and support their resolution.
- Contribute feedback on workforce performance and recommend improvements in manpower planning.
Qualification & Education:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering with proven production experience.
- Years of Experience: 5–7 years of experience in production operations, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or team-leading role.
