Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the successful execution of large-scale EPC, Design-Build, and Construction Management projects within advanced technology industries. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of project delivery—from proposal and preconstruction through commissioning and turnover—while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate has successfully led the full lifecycle of complex, billion-dollar projects and brings extensive experience managing multidisciplinary teams, client relationships, commercial performance, and construction execution in industries such as data centers, semiconductor manufacturing, or biopharmaceutical/life sciences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall execution of EPC, Design-Build, and Construction Management projects from proposal through final turnover.
- Assume full responsibility for project scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, risk management, and financial performance.
- Manage project profitability through effective cost control, forecasting, change management, cash flow, and risk mitigation.
- Provide technical leadership during proposal development, project planning, and execution.
- Review project designs, drawings, specifications, and constructability to identify opportunities and mitigate project risks.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships and ensuring successful project delivery.
- Coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project controls teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams, providing mentorship, direction, and performance management.
- Oversee consultant and subcontractor coordination while ensuring compliance with project requirements and company standards.
- Champion a strong culture of safety, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with project processes, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 preferred.
- 10–15+ years of experience in engineering and construction within an EPC or General Contracting environment.
- 5+ years of senior-level project, construction, or design management experience.
- Proven experience leading the entire lifecycle of at least one $1B+ industrial or advanced technology project from preconstruction through turnover.
- Experience delivering projects within one or more of the following industries:
- Data Centers
- Semiconductor Manufacturing
- Biopharmaceutical/Life Sciences
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Strong commercial management experience, including:
- Budget ownership and forecasting
- Cost control
- Change order management
- Risk management
- Profit & Loss (P&L) accountability
- Experience working for an EPC contractor or General Contractor.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, design coordination, and constructability reviews.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, communication, and client management skills.
- Ability to lead large, multidisciplinary project teams in a complex project environment.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience delivering large-scale projects for EPC firms or General Contractors supporting hyperscale data centers, semiconductor fabs, pharmaceutical manufacturing, biotechnology facilities, or other advanced technology projects are strongly encouraged to apply.
