Job Title: Project Engineer 2 / Project Engineer 3
Duration: 1 year, with annual extensions; potential for conversion
Location: Los Alamos, NM (HYBRID) Remote with travel every 3 months to various sites
Short Summary about Job:
HukariAscendent is seeking Project Engineer 2 and Project Engineer 3 candidates to support mission operations at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) within the PIE-EPF1 organization (71D21C). These are backfill positions supporting the fabrication and procurement of PITs and the renovation of equipment for the 30-PIT mission, with a long-term objective to expand to 60-PIT by 2030. The team is currently halfway through Phase 1 of a 3-phase project.
The Project Engineer will act as lead engineer managing the engineering function, supporting mission scope management, and working alongside a procurement engineer and a team of experts and vendors.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering degree (mechanical, electrical, chemical, or biological; civil engineering does not cross-discipline well)
- Minimum 3-4 years of engineering experience
- Ability to obtain Q-clearance
- Experience working in secure/briefed environments and with unescorted site access requirements
- Proficiency with MS Teams and standard Microsoft Office products
Preferred Qualifications
- Glove box and/or nuclear facility experience
- Mechanical and HVAC experience
- Experience on multi-phase capital projects in a DOE or nuclear environment
