We are looking for a Project Engineer to support engineered HVAC equipment projects from quotation through execution. This role works closely with sales representatives, consulting engineers, and internal teams to review specifications, develop selections and layouts, prepare submittals, and keep projects moving to completion.
What you’ll do
- Provide engineering and technical support for equipment projects from quote stage through project completion
- Review project specifications, drawings, and customer requirements to confirm compliance with design and performance criteria
- Evaluate specifications and recommend value-engineered alternatives when appropriate
- Develop equipment selections, layouts, and technical documentation to support project requirements
- Generate equipment pricing and project cost estimates based on specifications, selections, and sales rep input
- Prepare and manage project submittals, drawings, and supporting documentation for customer approval
- Coordinate with sales reps, consulting engineers, and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution
- Support design modifications and help resolve technical issues throughout the project lifecycle
- Maintain project schedules and drive timely completion of deliverables
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related engineering discipline)
- Experience reviewing construction documents, blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings
- Ability to interpret and apply technical requirements from plans and engineering documents
- Proficiency with 2D AutoCAD (design/drafting)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with customers and cross-functional teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- HVAC equipment design/application experience (air movement/ventilation systems a plus)
- 3–5+ years of HVAC engineering, project engineering, or equipment application experience
- Experience working with manufacturers’ reps and consulting engineers
- Familiarity with equipment selection and performance analysis
- Experience preparing submittals and coordinating engineering deliverables for construction projects
- Ability to travel up to 15% for customer meetings, training, and project support
