Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all Fire & Gas engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, from engineering to commissioning.
  • Review and monitor Fire & Gas engineering deliverables, including cause & effect matrices, device layouts, detector coverage, F&G drawings, hook-ups, and system architecture.
  • Support procurement activities by reviewing technical specifications, vendor offers, and submittals for Fire & Gas systems and related equipment.
  • Ensure alignment between engineering design, material procurement, site installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate with vendors for Fire Alarm, Gas Detection, Flame Detection, Voice Evacuation, and integrated safety systems.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), loop checking, functional testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Resolve technical issues and respond to site queries related to Fire & Gas systems.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, consultants, vendors, and construction teams to ensure timely project execution.
  • Monitor project progress, prepare technical reports, and maintain project documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards (NFPA, IEC, ISA where applicable), client requirements, and company quality standards.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5–7 years of experience in Fire & Gas, Fire Alarm, or Safety Systems within EPC, oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Fire Alarm and Gas Detection systems, including flame detectors, gas detectors, smoke and heat detectors, manual call points, sounders, beacons, and control panels.
  • Familiarity with integrated Fire & Gas systems and interfaces with PLC, DCS, SCADA, and Emergency Shutdown (ESD) systems.
  • Experience reviewing Fire & Gas design documents, cause & effect matrices, detector layouts, cable schedules, and system architecture drawings.
  • Experience coordinating engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Knowledge of applicable international standards such as NFPA, IEC, and ISA is preferred.
  • Strong communication, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with AutoCAD and engineering/document management software is an advantage.
