Role Description The Project Manager – Civil Engineering is a full-time, on-site role based in Amman, Jordan. This role is responsible for planning, executing, and closing civil engineering projects, including infrastructure, roads, bridges, and related construction works. Daily tasks include managing project schedules and budgets, coordinating with engineering teams, contractors, and stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. The Project Manager oversees site activities, conducts regular progress reviews, resolves technical and operational issues, and prepares project reports and documentation. The role also involves risk management, resource allocation, and continuous communication with clients and internal leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
Qualifications
- Strong civil engineering knowledge, including experience with infrastructure, roads, bridges, and structural works.
- Proficiency in project management practices, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction contracts.
- Experience with site supervision, quality control, and adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Competence in using project management and engineering software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD or similar tools).
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Several years of proven experience managing civil engineering projects, preferably in mining, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced on-site environment.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic and familiarity with local regulations and standards in Jordan are beneficial.
