When you go to a show, you hear more than words and music. You hear how the shape of the room, how the finishes of the space, and how quiet the space is, creates an overall experience. You hear the hum of the lights and the foot falls on the stage.
You have the potential and/or experience to be a talented acoustic consultant/engineer and are looking for flexibility, challenging work, and a culture that pushes you to be your best.
We’re Aercoustics Engineering Ltd., and this is where you belong.
We’re an award-winning, national leader in consulting engineering services in the field of acoustics, noise and vibration. We work on varied and challenging projects, from noise reduction in transit systems, to world-class performance spaces for the Royal Conservatory of Music, to the research and development of tools that are changing our industry.
We're looking for an experienced Architectural Acoustical Engineer who is ready to lead projects, mentor engineers, and help shape the future of one of Canada's leading acoustical consulting firms.
This is not a traditional project management role. Our Project Managers remain deeply involved in the technical work, providing engineering leadership, reviewing complex analyses, guiding project teams, and serving as trusted advisors to our clients.
If you're looking for a role where you can continue developing technically while taking ownership of exciting projects that shape communities across North America, we'd love to meet you.
Overview of Opportunity
At Aercoustics, Project Managers are first and foremost accomplished Acoustical Engineers.
Our clients rely on us because of our technical expertise not simply our ability to manage schedules and budgets. As a Project Manager, you'll lead multidisciplinary acoustical consulting projects from concept through completion while remaining actively involved in the engineering work that makes our projects successful.
You'll oversee complex architectural, vibration and acoustical studies, provide technical direction to project teams, mentor junior engineers, build long-term client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of one of Canada's premier acoustical consulting firms.
You'll work on projects that people experience every day from rapid transit systems and major transportation corridors to hospitals, industrial facilities, renewable energy developments, residential communities and world-class performance spaces.
Every project presents unique technical challenges, giving you the opportunity to solve complex problems alongside some of Canada's leading acoustical specialists.
Who This Role Is For
This opportunity is designed for engineers with an established background in Acoustical Engineering.
Because our Project Managers provide technical leadership and engineering oversight, this is not a traditional project management position. Success in this role requires the ability to independently evaluate acoustical challenges, review technical analyses, mentor engineers and provide trusted engineering advice to clients.
Candidates with general project management experience but without acoustical engineering expertise are unlikely to have the technical foundation required for this role.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, an ability to learn and apply new theories, excellent teamwork skills and the ability to lead. You are also curious and eager to learn within a flexible work schedule, including occasional nights and weekends. As well, you are willing and able to travel as projects dictate. While the majority of our project sites are in BC some projects are outside the province, and in some cases outside Canada.
“Must-Have” qualifications:
A degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
· 5+ years of progressive Acoustical Engineering consulting experience.
· Demonstrated experience leading environmental acoustical projects from proposal through delivery.
· Experience preparing and reviewing architectural noise and vibration assessments.
· Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership.
· P.Eng. designation (or eligibility within the near future).
· Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
Please note: We are seeking an experienced Acoustical Engineer who has progressed into project leadership. This is not a general Project Management position
