Job Description
As a QA / Release Engineer with a leading technology company, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and successful delivery of our vehicle software. You’ll drive process improvements to ensure that releases are regular, reliable, and high quality. Working cross-functionally, you’ll help optimize the development process—removing inefficiencies, enhancing the developer experience, and accelerating our path to market for autonomous vehicles.
- Conduct manual and automated testing of software applications to identify potential risks or issues.
- Analyze pull requests (PRs) from developers and perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
- Triage scenarios flagged by the system for review.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, product managers, designers) to highlight the impact of performance regressions.
- Report and track regressions and defects in an organized manner.
- Continuously improve QA processes to prevent performance degradation.
- Conduct root cause analysis for defects and work with developers to ensure timely resolutions.
- Validate fixes and improvements with comprehensive retesting, ensuring no new regressions are introduced.
- Provide clear, concise test reports, highlighting risks, issues, and test progress.
- Support the merge process (infra, pipedream jobs, first-pass scenario triage, etc.).
- Increase developer velocity during infrastructure improvements.
- Support the PR validation process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a QA Engineer or in a similar software quality assurance role.
- Experience with both manual and automated testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with testing tools such as TestRail or equivalents.
- Strong understanding of various testing methodologies (functional, regression, performance, integration, etc.).
- Experience with issue tracking and project management tools like Jira.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
