National Engineering Recruitment are proud to be supporting a leading UK sheet metal fabrication business in the search for a proactive and detail-driven Quality Technician.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturer operating within high-specification engineering environments, where quality, precision, and continuous improvement are at the forefront of operations.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring products, processes, and manufacturing standards consistently meet both customer and regulatory requirements, while supporting a right-first-time culture across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections using engineering drawings and precision measuring equipment
  • Support quality assurance activities across manufacturing processes to ensure products meet customer and industry standards
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with recognised quality systems including ISO9001 and aerospace standards
  • Produce and update inspection reports, quality documentation, and manufacturing records
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to identify improvement opportunities and reduce non-conformances
  • Support root cause investigations using recognised problem-solving techniques and corrective action processes
  • Monitor and analyse quality data to identify trends, recurring issues, and process improvements
  • Complete customer and production quality documentation including FAIRs, ISIRs, and PPAP submissions
  • Assist with the operation and utilisation of inspection equipment including CMMs and portable measurement arms
  • Contribute towards continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and waste reduction
  • Maintain strong communication with both internal departments and external customers regarding quality-related matters

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering quality environment
  • Good understanding of ISO9001 quality systems, with AS9100 knowledge beneficial
  • Experience carrying out inspections using precision measurement equipment
  • Ability to interpret and work from complex engineering drawings
  • Exposure to CMM, Faro Arm, Hexagon Arm, or similar inspection systems advantageous
  • Familiar with structured root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies
  • Understanding of PPAP, FAIR, or customer approval documentation processes
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Proactive and methodical approach to problem solving
  • Able to work collaboratively within cross-functional engineering and production teams
  • Positive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement and maintaining high quality standards

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 3:30pm

Friday: 7:00am – 2:30pm

39 hours per week

Location: Stoke-On-Trent
