About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Oil Refinery Head to lead and oversee refinery operations, production planning, process optimization, safety compliance, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing refinery, blending plant, terminal, or petroleum processing operations while driving efficiency, profitability, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day refinery/plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted production.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to maximize plant performance and output.
- Oversee production planning, process optimization, quality control, and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with HSE, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Monitor refinery KPIs, plant efficiency, yield improvement, and operational costs.
- Coordinate with trading, procurement, logistics, maintenance, and finance teams to support business objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and profitability.
- Manage refinery shutdowns, turnarounds, maintenance planning, and capital improvement projects.
- Lead, mentor, and develop technical, operations, and maintenance teams.
- Ensure product quality meets customer and industry specifications.
- Prepare operational reports, budgets, forecasts, and management presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience within Oil & Gas, Petroleum Refining, Petrochemicals, Lubricants, Base Oils, Fuel Blending, or Terminal Operations.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership role managing refinery, blending plant, processing facility, or large-scale petroleum operations.
- Strong understanding of refining processes, petroleum products, storage operations, and plant optimization.
- Proven experience in HSE compliance, operational risk management, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and large operational budgets.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to align operations with business goals.
- GCC/Middle East experience will be highly preferred.
