Purpose of the role:
The Regional Engineering & Technology Director supports multiple manufacturing sites across Southeast Asia, partnering with local engineering teams to drive technology deployment, capital project development, and engineering excellence initiatives.
Operating within a regional engineering organization, this role provides technical leadership across several factories and countries, ensuring alignment of engineering standards, manufacturing technologies, factory masterplans, and long-term investment strategies. Success in this role requires strong experience working across multiple manufacturing sites and influencing stakeholders without direct operational ownership of plant engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Regional Engineering Support
- Partner with engineering teams across multiple manufacturing sites to identify, develop, and implement engineering solutions that improve safety, quality, productivity, and operational performance
- Support factories in developing factory masterplans, capacity expansion strategies, and long-term technology roadmaps
- Drive the deployment of engineering standards and best practices across the region
Technology Leadership
- Serve as the regional subject matter expert for assigned manufacturing technologies, providing guidance on technical solutions, process design, equipment selection, and future manufacturing capabilities
- Evaluate and deploy new technologies that improve manufacturing performance, quality, productivity, and capital efficiency
- Facilitate technology transfer and implementation of global engineering initiatives across manufacturing sites
Capital Projects & Strategic Initiatives
- Lead and support capital investment projects from concept development through project definition and execution support
- Partner with site teams to develop technically sound and cost-effective solutions for capacity expansion, new production lines, automation, and manufacturing upgrades
- Support strategic initiatives including factory expansions, new manufacturing capabilities, acquisitions, and greenfield projects
.Innovation & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, Quality, and Global Engineering teams to support innovation, productivity, and business growth initiatives
- Influence and align stakeholders across multiple factories, functions, and countries to ensure successful project delivery and technology deployment
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline
- 10+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Project Engineering, Capital Projects, Process Engineering, Plant Engineering, or related technical functions within FMCG or similar manufacturing industries
- Proven experience supporting multiple manufacturing sites through a regional, cluster, centralized engineering, or multi-site project management role
- Strong track record of delivering capital projects, manufacturing improvement programs, technology deployment, or strategic engineering initiatives across multiple locations
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production technologies, factory operations, and capital project delivery within FMCG or related industries
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes across different plants and countries without direct reporting authority
- Strong project management, technical problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working within a regional, cluster, or centralized engineering organization supporting multiple manufacturing sites is highly preferred
- Fluent English both verbal and written
- Willingness to travel across some countries in SEA
