Role Description
We are looking for a self motivated Reliability Engineer to join our dynamic team and provide technical leadership and input for, as well as coordinate all systematic and ad hoc planning/modelling, analysis and reporting activities aimed at improving the reliability of equipment at operations. This is a full-time on-site role for a Reliability Engineer. The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks such as reliability engineering, analytical skills, failure analysis, reliability-centred maintenance, and troubleshooting. They will work closely with mining and processing plant managers, as well as reliability engineers, maintenance engineers, maintenance planners and technicians, to improve asset management and reliability.
Job Description
As a Site Reliability Engineer you will provide a service function to the production and maintenance functions, by implementing sound reliability engineering principles and methods, to reduce the risk of poor performance and reliability to production plan and budgets caused by equipment reliability issues. Key responsibilities include:
• Implementation, tracking and monitoring of the Asset Management & Reliability Programs.
• Custodian and champion of the Strategic Asset Management Plan
• Following up of Asset Management Assessment Gap Action Items
• Development Asset Strategies and Plans (Maintenance Tactics)
• Conducting Asset Criticality Analysis
• Implementation of Work Management (Work Planning, Resourcing, Scheduling, Control)
• Driving and enhancing condition monitoring programs
• EAM (SAP) and Information management improvement
• Facilitating Root Cause Analysis and Defect Elimination
• Managing Asset Life Cycle Management programs
• Research and investigate the latest technology trends and propose implementation programs to incorporate these into the business
• Responsible for improvement specific training, coaching and development of engineering personnel in the maintenance of equipment consistent with the operating objectives
Qualifications
- NQF level 8 qualification – BSc or BEng Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical and Industrial)
Attributes
- Reliability Engineering and Troubleshooting skills
- Analytical Skills for data analysis and problem-solving
- Experience in Failure Analysis and Reliability-Centred Maintenance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Knowledge of ISO 55000 Standard is beneficial
- Ability to work without supervision
- Self Starter and ability to work without supervision
Knowledge & Skills required
• Minimum 5 years' experience in the maintenance of mining and/or plant equipment
• Conversant with MHSA and the OHSA acts
• Experience as a Reliability Engineer
