Role Profile

Job Title: Reliability Engineer – Aluminum Recycling

Business Unit/Function: Recycling Maintenance

Department: Reliability & Asset Management

Job Location: Ras Al Khair, Eastern KSA

Working hours: 8 hours

Job post duration: starting 16 July 2026 – end date 30 July 2026

Job Purpose

To establish and drive the reliability and asset management function for the new Aluminum Recycling Plant. The Reliability Engineer is responsible for building the maintenance systems and reliability strategy from the ground up for a greenfield facility, ensuring that all recycling equipment (scrap processing and sortation, delacquering, melting and casting furnaces, homogenizing, sawing, and utilities) is set up for maximum availability, reliability, and lowest life-cycle cost from first hot metal onward.

As this is a new plant, a central part of the role is to design and implement the maintenance management systems and the overall reliability strategy: developing the equipment criticality framework, preventive and predictive maintenance program, spare parts philosophy, and the CMMS asset data structure, so the plant enters operation with a mature, reliability-centered maintenance foundation rather than building it reactively after startup.

Key Accountabilities

Build Maintenance Systems & Reliability Strategy (Primary Requirement)

Design and build the plant maintenance management system and reliability strategy for the recycling facility, including the CMMS/EAM asset hierarchy, equipment register, and maintenance data structure.

Develop the equipment criticality assessment and risk ranking for all recycling equipment.

Establish the preventive and predictive maintenance program (PM/PdM), maintenance task libraries, and job plans.

Define the spare parts and critical-spares philosophy, min/max levels, and insurance-spare strategy.

Set the reliability KPIs (availability, MTBF, MTTR) and the reporting framework for the plant.

Reliability Engineering

Lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA) for chronic and high-impact failures and drive corrective actions.

Apply RCM, FMEA, and bad-actor analysis to continuously improve equipment reliability.

Support commissioning and early operation with reliability input, ensuring assets are handed over with complete maintenance strategies in place.

Asset Management & Continuous Improvement

Monitor asset performance, analyze failure and downtime data, and target reliability improvements.

Support life-cycle cost and asset replacement decisions.

Embed a reliability culture and coach maintenance and operations teams on reliability practices.

Safety

Ensure all reliability and maintenance strategies uphold EHS requirements, with particular attention to molten metal, combustion, and delacquering hazards.

Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline. Reliability certification (CMRP, CRE) or equivalent is an advantage.

Experience

Minimum 8-10 years in maintenance and reliability engineering in aluminum, casthouse, primary metals, or heavy process industry. Demonstrated experience building maintenance systems and reliability strategy, ideally including a greenfield setup or commissioning environment, is a core requirement.

Technical Skills

Strong command of CMMS/EAM systems (SAP PM, Maximo or equivalent), criticality assessment, RCM, FMEA, RCFA, PM/PdM program development, and spare parts strategy. Working knowledge of condition monitoring technologies (vibration, thermography, oil analysis).

Competencies

Analytical and structured, results-oriented, strong communicator, able to build systems from scratch, drive change, and coach others in reliability practice.
