As a Reliability & Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in improving the performance, reliability, and availability of production equipment within a food industry environment. You will be responsible for developing and optimizing maintenance strategies while supporting operational teams in reducing downtime and increasing efficiency.
You will work at the intersection of maintenance, engineering, and operations to drive continuous improvement and ensure sustainable equipment performance.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
Maintenance Strategy & Reliability
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies (preventive, predictive, condition-based).
- Enhance the reliability of production equipment and processes.
- Identify and eliminate recurring failures and breakdowns.
Analysis & Performance Monitoring
- Analyze equipment failures and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
- Track and improve maintenance KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, and OEE.
- Conduct risk analyses (e.g., FMEA) and define mitigation actions.
Maintenance Planning & Execution
- Manage and optimize maintenance plans within CMMS systems.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with production and technical teams.
- Support overhauls, shutdowns, and technical upgrades of installations.
Predictive Maintenance & Innovation
- Implement predictive maintenance techniques (vibration analysis, thermography, etc.).
- Support spare parts management and inventory optimization.
- Collaborate with external vendors and service providers.
Support & Continuous Improvement
- Train and coach maintenance technicians and operators.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and food industry standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintenance cost optimization.
ABOUT YOU:
- Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electromechanical or equivalent).
- 4+ years of experience in maintenance, reliability, or industrial engineering.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance strategies and reliability methodologies.
- Experience in industrial environments, preferably in the food or process industry.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems and KPI-driven performance management.
- Knowledge of RCA, FMEA, and predictive maintenance tools/techniques.
- Hands-on mindset, analytical skills, and strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams.
- Fluent in Dutch and English
