Your role

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead the development, implementation, and management of health, safety, environment, and quality systems across our construction projects.

You will work closely with project and site teams to foster a proactive safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead quality assurance processes that protect people, property, and the business reputation.

What you'll do

  • Develop, implement, and maintain project HSE management plans, safe work method statements, and risk registers.
  • Conduct regular site HSE audits, inspections, and toolbox talks, ensuring compliance with the WHS Act and project requirements.
  • Manage incident reporting, investigation, and corrective action processes across all assigned projects.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, project principals, and subcontractors on HSE compliance, performance, and obligations.
  • Develop and manage project quality management plans, inspection and test plans, and quality control registers.
  • Lead quality audits and defect management processes, ensuring non-conformances are captured and closed out promptly.
  • Maintain quality documentation and ensure project handover packages meet all contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Engineering Lead and Site Manager in hold point management and construction inspection processes.

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years' experience in HSE management across major projects within the building or civil construction industry.
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or Diploma in WHS; degree in OHS or equivalent preferred.
  • Lead auditor certification (ISO 45001) and demonstrated quality assurance management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, environmental obligations, safety management systems and construction industry codes of practice.
  • Credible and respected safety leader with influence at all levels of the project team.
  • Disciplined in documentation, incident management, and corrective action follow-through.
  • Proactive risk identifier who creates genuine ownership of safety across the site.
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to engage safety audiences at all levels of the organisation.
