We are seeking an experienced Senior Controls & Building Automation Engineer to lead the design, development, commissioning, and support of advanced HVAC and Building Management System (BMS) solutions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of control system engineering, including system design, electrical engineering, programming, installation support, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and customer engagement. This role requires close collaboration with customers, project managers, designers, toolmakers, electricians, and internal stakeholders to deliver complete and efficient automation solutions across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, install, and commission HVAC, DDC, and Building Automation Systems.
- Lead the design, development, execution, start-up, commissioning, and handover of Chiller Plant Manager (CPM), DDC, and control panel projects.
- Perform controller selection, I/O sizing, network architecture design, and hardware specification.
- Review and approve control panel drawings, electrical schematics, and I/O lists.
- Develop standardized PLC/HMI software libraries and engineering standards.
- Design and develop PLC software tailored to customer and project requirements.
- Conduct site surveys and assess existing control systems for upgrades and renovation projects.
- Perform system integration, debugging, testing, and commissioning at manufacturing facilities and customer sites.
- Support remote monitoring solutions and predictive maintenance initiatives using real-time data analytics.
- Troubleshoot, repair, upgrade, calibrate, and maintain HVAC and automation systems.
- Apply and support communication protocols including BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks.
- Prepare technical proposals, estimations, submittals, and project documentation.
- Attend site meetings, provide progress reports, and maintain effective communication with customers and project teams.
- Identify additional opportunities for system upgrades, service contracts, and enhancement projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in HVAC controls, BMS, automation, or electrical engineering.
- Experience working with HVAC OEMs or controls/electrical companies is highly preferred.
Technical Requirements
- Strong knowledge of HVAC Controls and Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Hands-on experience with Automatic Temperature Controls.
- Strong PLC programming and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with open protocols including BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks.
- Knowledge of control panels, DDC systems, and building automation architectures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of HVAC systems, machine operations, and automation technologies.
