The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for leading and managing solar PV system design activities, ensuring high-quality engineering outputs for commercial, industrial, and hybrid energy projects. The role involves system design, technical calculations, drawing preparation, design optimization, and coordination with internal departments and external stakeholders. The Senior Design Engineer will support project development from concept to execution while ensuring compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
Responsibilities
Technical Design & Engineering
- Lead the design of solar PV systems (On-grid, Off-grid, Hybrid systems).
- Prepare detailed electrical layouts, single-line diagrams (SLD), and system schematics.
- Perform load analysis, cable sizing, inverter selection, and system optimization.
- Ensure compliance with international and local electrical standards.
- Conduct design verification and technical review before project submission.
Site & Project Coordination
- Supervise and support site survey activities.
- Coordinate with project, procurement, and installation teams.
- Provide technical clarification during project execution.
- Support troubleshooting and technical problem-solving when required.
Documentation & Proposal Support
- Prepare technical proposals, BOQs, cost estimations, and tender documents.
- Develop detailed design drawings using AutoCAD and related software.
- Review and approve engineering drawings from junior engineers.
- Maintain accurate design documentation and project records.
Team Leadership
- Guide and mentor junior design engineers.
- Review and improve design quality and efficiency.
- Provide technical training and knowledge sharing within the team.
Job Specification :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Renewable Energy, Mechanical, or related Engineering field
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in solar PV system design or related engineering field
- Professional engineering certification is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of Solar PV system design principles
- Electrical calculation and system sizing expertise
- Proficient in AutoCAD (Advanced preferred), Microsoft Office, PV design software (Helioscope, PVsyst, or equivalent preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
