Indigo Energy’s mission is to develop, build, and operate high-quality solar projects.  Based in Myanmar from 2012, Indigo Energy has evolved over time.  The first phase was focused on rural electrification, the second phase on commercial and industrial (C&I) rooftop solar, and the most recent (i.e. Indigo Energy 3.0) on outsourced engineering services around solar.

Job Description

  1. Lead the design and review of solar PV systems (on-grid, off-grid, hybrid, and energy storage systems).
  2. Supervise and mentor Design Engineers to ensure high-quality and timely project delivery.
  3. Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
  4. Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and company design guidelines.
  5. Oversee the use of engineering software such as PVsyst, SketchUp, Helioscope, SolarPro Tool, and QGIS.
  6. Coordinate with project, procurement, and construction teams to support successful EPC project execution.
  7. Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, consultants, and other stakeholders on technical matters.
  8. Drive continuous improvement in design processes, engineering standards, and quality control.
  9. Research and evaluate new technologies and engineering solutions to enhance project performance.
  10. Maintain design quality through technical reviews and QA/QC processes.

Job Requirement

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field).
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in of solar PV systems design (on-grid, off-grid, hybrid) and relevant engineering software (PVsyst, Sketchup, SolarPro Tool, Helioscope, QGIS, etc.).
  3. Strong knowledge of solar PV design principles, electrical systems, and EPC project execution. 
  4. Experience leading engineering teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously. 
  5. Professional engineering certification or registration is an advantage.
  6. Strong communication and problem-solving skills to interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  7. Ability to create and update technical documentation and maintain quality outcomes.
  8. Prior experience in solar design or a related field is a strong advantage.
